Libby deserves 10 stars. I found her after I became curious in pursuing a homebirth around 30 weeks pregnant with my third baby. Up until I met her, I'd planned a hospital birth with an epidural. After an open conversation around 40 minutes about natural birth, I not only was sure in my heart that it was the right path, I also knew that if I had my baby right then and there with Libby, I would feel ready and happy. She delivered my baby when the time came, and not once during the most intense part of my labor did I fear or regret my decision. Giving birth is one of the most vulnerable things a woman can do, and this midwife’s care is absolutely amazing. She helps you feel like you can do it, makes you feel strong and empowered. She helps give you the birth you want to achieve and really take the time for all your needs and concerns. Each time we had an appointment, we had to drive 3.5 hours one way but it is so worth it. A million stars. Someone recommended this midwife on a FB group so I reached out when we were looking into a homebirth. Libby is compassionate, incredibly experienced, and genuinely interested in fulfilling your wishes for how you'd like to birth your baby. We were in the best hands from beginning to end. Libby takes time each visit to listen and ask questions about what we wanted for our homebirth--not just me, but my husband and my kids too, they all mattered, they were all welcomed. I felt like I was talking to a therapist, a best friend. I only wish we planned to have another baby because I would choose this team again in a heartbeat. For me, pregnancy was not "beautiful" or "magical". No, the words I would use to describe that experience would be "torture" and "despair". I thought almost every day about how my dream of motherhood was not worth the suffering of pregnancy and often silently cursed all the people who congratulated me. I felt so deceived by the people I had watched experience pregnancy, envious of others having a better experience, and cheated by nature of the pregnancy that I thought I would have.

Fortunately, I was blessed to have found Libby and was cared for in a way that helped me push through and find hope. I don't think I was as honest with you as I should have been about how bad I was really doing, but you sent me to Serenity Recovery and Wellness anyway. I'm continuing to see them still and continuing to make progress towards being the healthiest and happiest mom I can be.

Then, there was the birth.

I was so wrapped up in my anxiety and depression that I was convinced I would end up needing a cesarean. Every day that passed after my due date I dropped deeper and deeper into my nightmare. But then, the contractions came. I let them take me, trusting that they would lead me where I needed to go. My anxiety was still there, but instead of drowning me it was a pestering fly buzzing around, watching as I found my power and let instinct overcome me.

Two days of labor didn't seem so long. When I tell people my labor lasted about 50 hours they look at me in shock and horror. But they will never understand the beauty of what I experienced. My nausea was gone! I felt strong and confident. I felt like I knew who I was and what to do in a way I never have before. I was encouraged and empowered by my Midwife, held and supported by my husband, and when it mattered most, I was there for myself. I believed I could do it. I have you to thank. I will never forget that beautiful moment when I looked down into that clear water and saw my baby looking back at me. Me! The first face his eyes ever saw. Now that is what I would call "magical".

I delivered my second baby with Libby in December after having my first at a hospital. To say my two experiences were different is a huge understatement. At every prenatal appointment, Libby made me feel safe, comforted, and heard. Any question or discomfort I had was always met with care and never shrugged off as “oh well that’s pregnancy for ya”. She does a wonderful job helping you feel prepared and confident in your birth plan and giving you all the information to make informed decisions about your body and baby. I had an incredible birth experience and the care I received during my birth and the weeks to follow was gentle and compassionate. I simply don’t have the words to adequately explain how much I love this midwife and her team.

I absolutely loved my experience! I never had any anxiety before my prenatal appointments because of Libby’s calming presence. She doesn’t waste your time, the appointments don’t feel invasive, and I felt so safe in her care. She is so talented and educated, she was able to help ease any pregnancy anxiety with her knowledge. I appreciated the 24/7 midwife support through pregnancy and I was never made to feel like I was a burden with my questions. I ended up transferring to the hospital and felt extremely supported in that process. I was nervous about getting my birth requests met at the hospital but the midwives/nurses there were great too! I will absolutely use Libby and her team again for future pregnancies. I think I had the most positive birth experience that I could ever ask for even though it didn’t go according to plan.

Where do I even begin with how amazing this midwife is? From the first consult where we glimpsed the passion for her work, to the very last post-natal check, every single visit was wonderful. Libby went above and beyond the typical “friendly” - she demonstrated true care for her clients through her words and actions. No question was considered dumb or silly. Fears and concerns were addressed respectfully. When birth can very much be a scary experience (or thought), each visit I left feeling calm and prepared, knowing I had a phenomenal team in my corner. On the financial side, it was also low stress, and any questions were quickly addressed and fixed if needed. All in all, you know you picked the right place for care when you start crying as your last check up comes to an end, knowing you won’t see this wonderful midwife who has been an integral part of a new life chapter. My experience with Libby was above and beyond what I thought prenatal and postpartum care would ever look like for me. I never knew that such a holistic and natural birth experience could exist. She truly takes the approach to individualize each patient's plan based on scientific evidence and the desires of the patient. From my very first appointment, she took the time to get to know myself as well as my husband and put our wants and desires for the birth first.

Libby is compassionate, knowledgeable and understanding. She welcomed questions about any of the things that we are told is "normal" for a birth. She prioritized informed consent. She was also just dang fun to be around- she became more like family for us.

My postnatal care has been amazing. SHE PRIORITIZES MOM & BABY. She knows that babe will thrive if the mother is taken care of. The postpartum appointments are long because she will evaluate you physically, mentally, emotionally, etc. She gives great recommendations for anything you may need: therapy, pelvic floor PT, lactation consultant, etc. She will check in with you often if you need it. It truly is around the clock care with the whole person in mind.

Libby provides incredible pregnancy and birth care. I love her approach to birth as a natural process to be guided, only intervening when necessary.

I recently birthed my fourth baby (second home birth) with Libby. I have delivered all four of my babies with different providers in different locations. My first was a typical hospital birth, with an ob-gyn, induction, and epidural. My second was natural in a birth center at a hospital, again with an ob-gyn. And my third and fourth babies were born at home with midwives, just two different ones because we moved. With each baby, I learned a little better my needs and desires for birth, taking courses and reading books along the way. By far, both of my home births were the smoothest and most wholesome experiences. I loved my midwife for my third baby, so I was grateful to find another after our move that helped me have a similarly positive and safe birth at home.

I loved that she respected all of my previous experience and knowledge and then completely personalized this fourth birth. Each pregnancy and birth experience is different, even with the same woman. She helped me navigate all the new aspects while applying lessons learned from my previous births. She was respectful, knowledgeable, validating, and present with my pregnancy care and through the birth.

I also felt perfectly confident in her professional medical ability to care for me and my baby. I felt perfectly safe. Her number one priority is safety. She doesn't watch for red flags: she watches for pink ones. The earliest signs of concern are attended to. If anything requires specialized hospital care, she is ready (with good hospital relationships) to do what's best for mom and baby. Another thing I really loved is how Libby attended to my mental health as much as my physical. I really struggled with anticipating this birth. Birth is hard work, both physically and emotionally, and I couldn't wrap my head around this one. But she always talked me through my thought processes and helped me get ready mentally. She was reassuring, encouraging, and empowering through the birth as well, especially during those final intense hours. She guided both my husband and me through the climax of mental and physical work to bring our baby here safely. She were calm and positive the whole time.

I would absolutely recommend Libby to any who is considering a home birth.

I am so very grateful that I found Libby this time around, such a stark difference from my unmedicated hospital birth with my first baby. I thought for sure she would turn me away with my age and history of complications and I was so excited to be told she did not see me as high risk.

We had our 2.5yrs old at every appointment and she absolutely loved it. She thought the whole thing was for her. She loved "helping" do my measurements and vitals and having them check her belly and show her exercises just like they did for me.  I think the way they involved her in the whole process from beginning to end really helped her bond with the new baby which has made postpartum very enjoyable for the whole family.

Libby always gave us her full attention, answered any questions we had even outside of the scheduled appointment time and never made us feel rushed or that the toddler was an inconvenience. I did not have any anxiety as it came closer to my due date, Libby is so calming and I trusted her completely. I felt so powerful and strong after this birth and was in awe at how beautiful it was. It makes me want to have another baby so I can experience this again.

I am super grateful and blessed to have received care from Libby for the entirety of my pregnancy. I remember being so excited and at peace for my appointments because they were all so warm, reassuring, and composed. If I were to describe my pregnancy and birthing experience in one word, it will be sacred. I came in just wanting a non-medicated birth with my first baby but left with more than that. I know children are a gift from God, but my birthing experience made me realize just how special and breathtaking (metaphorically and literally, ha!) childbirth is! I recently gave birth with Libby and it was incredible. I recommend her to anyone looking for true, gentle, personal care. I’m still in awe at the difference in experience between Libby’s care and hospitals with my other kiddos. It was everything I needed and I’m so glad I made the switch last minute to switch. She treats you like a queen and apart from giving birth (which is hard work!) it feels like you are the most important person in the world and the only one she are worrying about (which is true). I had 3 natural births several years ago. Then in 2019 ended up having a C section. It was awful. In reviewing my experience and re-reading the book A Natural Child Birth the Bradley Way, it reaffirmed my power and desire to have a drug free natural delivery and trust my body when I got pregnant again. In the hands of my insurance’s choice of midwives, I noticed I was being guided and prepared for yet another C-section. I was a "high risk because of my age and my weight". I talked to the hospital midwives and had discussed the risk factors of an early induction and other things that had me leery. The answers were less than reassuring and after a very stressful "non-stress" test I discovered that I was definitely needing to find something and I was only literally days away from my due date. Libby saved me! Thank you for the drug free natural water birth that I wanted.

I wish I could give Libby 10 stars. Our experience was outstanding. At 5 weeks, my husband and I found out our baby was supposed to be a molar pregnancy. After more tests a heart beat was found and we were able to proceed with the pregnancy. Libby has been professional, knowledgeable, kind, sympathetic, and reliable. She referred us to other providers when it was necessary. Libby was there for us through all of it and I cannot imagine birthing a child with anyone else. Working with Libby was everything I was looking for. My first pregnancy and birth was at a hospital and I decided I needed care that was more in depth than what the obgyn could give. Every appointment I had with Libby was at least an hour long and my 2 year old toddler was included. She took every question and concern seriously and answered them with so much compassion. She made me feel so comfortable, seen and heard in a way I have never felt with any medical professional before. The biggest comfort for me was knowing that even if things went unplanned she would keep supporting me in every way they could even if I had had to be transferred. I went 4 days over due and gave birth to my 9lb 4oz son quickly. She knew exactly what to do and handled my fast labor with nothing but confidence. I was able to give birth to him in the water and it was the most incredible thing I have ever experienced. I transferred my care here at 33 weeks and it was one of the best decisions I ever made. I knew this was the place for me and my baby as soon as I walked in. I noticed quickly that each visit is much more than just a quick checkup. Libby takes at least an hour per visit to dive deep into a mother's mental, physical, and spiritual well-being. She cared for my soul. I never fully understood the meaning of mother-centered care until I experienced midwifery care. I don't know how to express my gratitude for Libby and her team. At least once a day, when I look at my baby, I am reminded of our beautiful, positive and life-changing birth story. There wasn’t a single appointment that went by where Libby didn’t make me feel seen, heard and valued. What an incredibly wholesome journey it has been to be taken care of by this midwife. She involved my partner, made him feel important and welcomed. My heart and soul feel hugged and supported by her and her team. With any task at hand, they go above and beyond, as it should be with healthcare. I am forever grateful.

I just had my first baby in July of 2021 and our experience was truly exceptional. The care provided went so far above and beyond anything I've ever experienced in more traditional healthcare settings and set the standard for what I wish healthcare could always be.

The difference is in the level of support, education, personalization and resources offered to pregnant people and their families. It is a very inclusive, family-centered environment and spouses, partners and children are always welcome to join. Prenatal group was a great way to meet and connect with other families going through the same journey and learn about so many important pregnancy and birth-related topics. Prenatal appointments are unrushed and Libby always took a very holistic approach in our visits--making sure to ask about mental and emotional health, as well as physical.

Specifically, her kind, steady care and reassurance calmed my anxieties as I saw my "due date" come and go, and helped me to be patient and trust in my body and in my baby's unique timing. In the end, I truly believe that made all the difference and I was able to have the gentle, natural home birth I had hoped for (one day before the induction deadline!).

I am so impressed with how Libby consistently struck that truly difficult and beautiful balance of complete medical professionalism--exercising caution and knowing how and when to offer a more "medical" intervention--and complete trust in the natural process of birth and in the power of women. This balance made me feel completely safe and confident during what is always a vulnerable and uncertain time. Libby is prepared to support you through whatever twists or turns your birth might take.

The postpartum care is also excellent. She follows up with you for at least 6 weeks after you give birth. They helped me through some very difficult breastfeeding challenges-- offering referrals, resources and follow-up care. I also loved that I was given very specific and helpful advice about navigating those early, exhausting, overwhelming postpartum days and helped me and my husband (both notoriously shy and reluctant to ask for help) actually reach out to family and friends and ask for the help we needed. It made such a huge difference!

This midwife truly puts her heart and soul into the work she does and it shows. She is knowledgeable, professional, caring and kind. We felt so loved and cared for during our entire journey and now I unreservedly sing her praises to anyone who asks!
